Rooster´s mass

Even if France is considered as a laic country, one of the typical traditions is to assist to the Rooster’s Mass or “Messe de Minuit” during Christmas Eve. This is a little bit different since the Rooster’s Mass takes place before supper and not at midnight as in other countries such as Spain.

Christmas gastronomy

The Foie-gras and the "Bûche de Noël"

The big Christmas feast is during the Christmas Eve’s supper. Each December 24, the families come together and the gastronomy gets a protagonist role. Some of the classic dishes are the exquisite and traditional Foie-gras, the roasted turkey and of course the “Bûche de Noël”, the typical French dessert for Christmas.

Père Noël or the Three Kings?

Père Noël

The night of the December 24, kids leave their shoes in front of the chimney and wait for the Santa Claus’s arrival. Next morning, when they wake up, they will find their shoes magically filled with candies, and surrounded by presents. There is nothing better than seeing the happiness on the children’s faces!
