PARC DE LA CIUTADELLA, BARCELONA, SPAIN

 
Fountain ​- Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona

This park was first opened to the public in 1877, making it not only the city’s oldest but also most popular and largest public park. This park is full of activities for families, couples or friends including the pond where you can rent a small rowboat or join in on all the different sports activities taking place all over the park. There are a lot of free activities that begin in the spring/summer time as well as concerts, events and fairs that happen year round. The park is open daily from 10:00am until dusk in the evening time. The most important structures in the park include the Barcelona Zoo, the Greenhouse, the Castel dels Tres Dragons, the life-size mammoth and the Cascada, which is a fountain and waterfall that was built based on the Trevi Fountain from Rome. This park is absolutely perfect to take a stroll, bring some lunch and enjoy the beauty all around you.


JARDIN DES TUILERIES, PARIS, FRANCE

 
Garden View - Jardin des Tuileries

This garden is located between the Louvre and Place De La Concorde and was designed by André Le Notre in 1640. It still remains the oldest and largest public garden in Paris and it’s a popular spot for tourists and locals. This park has endless chairs and different areas where you can sit down to take a rest from strolling through the park. During the summer time children are able to rent small toy sized sail boats to play with in the pond located inside the park. With the hustle of the city this park provides a nice place to come, relax and enjoy the nice weather. 


JARDIN JAPONAIS, TOULOUSE, FRANCE

 
​​Bridge - Toulouse Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden in Toulouse is located north of the center and was created in 1981. This 10 hectares park was created to be a peaceful place where people could go to meditate and relax. The inspiration for this garden was taken from various gardens created in Kyoto and consists of a tea pavilion, red bridge, Turtle Island, a lake and endless planted gardens. This is the ideal place to come and relax after some days of travel!

This park is very large and is located on the mountain of Montjuic, overviewing the city’s port. There are many different places you should see and there is definitely some planning that should be done beforehand to make sure you see all the places. The Olympic stadium of 1992 is located in this park along with the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Magic Fountain and the Castell de Montjuic, which was built in 1640! This park is unique for its views of the whole city, the ideal place to come take a walk through history and enjoy all the sights. 


JARDIN DU LUXEMBOURG, PARIS, FRANCE​

​​Luxembourg Palace - Jardin du Luxembourg​

This famous garden began construction in 1612 by the widow of King Henry IV of France, Marie de’ Medici. This garden was built for the Luxembourg Palace and was inspired by the Boboli Gardens in Florence covering total of 25 hectares. When walking around the park you will find 106 different statues and the beautiful Medici fountain, which was created in the 1600’s. There are a lot of different activities for children and adults alike, from puppet shows to rides and chess or tennis there is an activity for everyone. Fountain - Jardin Royal 

The royal garden in Toulouse is a quiet place to rest located right in the middle of the city. There is a small lake that has a romantic bridge crossing over it setting the scene of a beautiful stroll along the park. More over, there are beautiful trees, flowers and fountains, which are able to cover the sounds of the traffic from the city center. You can also ​visit the Botanic Garden by crossing over some of the footbridges leading your way. This park is a must-see while in the wonderful city of Toulouse.
