The flowers offering
The Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar
The Flowers offering to the Pilar’s Virgin, which takes place this year on October 12, is one of the key moments of this feasts week. The inhabitants wear their traditional costume and parade all day long to finally drop off flowers bunches in front of their patron saint, creating a huge carper of flowers in front of the basilica.
The fruits offering
It will take place on October 13. To attend it, let’s go to the Pilar place to live a day very similar to the flowers offerin day but where people of Zaragoza offer, this time, the best food of their region to their patron saint. The path begins on the Santa Eugenia place and obviously finishes, in front of the Pilar Virgin where thousands of fruits are dropped off.
The Giants Parade
Streets of Zaragoza
The traditional Giants of Aragon will wander in the Zaragoza streets during all the week. It’s a perfect plan to have fun as a family.
The Rosario de Cristal
One of the main activities of the Pilar feasts is the Rosario de Cristal, a religious celebration organised by the Royal Congregation of the Most Holy Rosary of Our Lady of the Pilar of Zaragoza, created in 1889. The procession will begin in the Sacred Heart of Jesus church and will wander in the streets of the town to finally go back to the starting point. Even if you are not Christian, attending the Rosary deserves it and is a moment you cannot miss during the Pilar feasts.
To enjoy nights as beautiful as your journeys, just go or stay outdoors and just look at the sky. You and your family will be amazed when you see the fireworks and lights spectacles which will illuminate all the nights in Zaragoza.
