The Player Impressions...
Paula Leitón is the youngest of the players who has been cautious, stating that the Spanish team would be favoured due to the fact that the athletes have the chance to play at home - however she also said that in no case is it beneficial to see yourself as if you’ve already won. Anything can happen. The blue team meanwhile, after defeating Malta 20 to 8, have shown that they are quite ready to take up the challenge. The women's team, absent since 2008, has made a comeback after winning 14 to 8 against Serbia.
The match between Holland and Croatia will be the first one of the championships in Barcelona. In total, 92 matches will be held. After the inaugural match at 2pm, one will be capable of attending 5 other women's matches including the one between Spain and Hungary - highly anticipated by the Spanish fans whose team will play at home.
The top four of each group in the men’s division will qualify for the quarterfinals. On the women's side, two groups of six contenders for the championship title will qualify for the quarter-finals.
